Exhibits The Brucemore Visitor Center features two exhibitions that introduce the visitor to the estate and its history. Visitors explore the families and the periods in which they lived at Brucemore through an introductory video, photographs, artifacts, and home movies. The main exhibit, "The Families of Brucemore," provides an overview of the estate from its creation in 1884 to its beginnings as a National Trust Historic Site and community cultural center. Changing exhibits have focused on specific issues including the servants, the history of the Douglas family's business, childhood during the early 1900s, and Brucemore's recent history as a historic site. The two exhibits are open during Visitor Center hours, Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for viewing the exhibits.

"The Families of Brucemore"
Exhibits As home to three families, Brucemore illustrates changing ideas about daily life by telling the stories of the Sinclairs, Douglases, Halls, and those who worked on the estate. "The Families of Brucemore" spans more than a century, bringing together artifacts ranging from circa 1880 packaging from T. M. Sinclair and Company, to Irene Douglases' bookbinding tools, to Howard Hall's film projector. Highlights include an orientation video about the Douglases, a scale model of the estate 1907 - 1928, and a large-scale photograph of the mansion. Of special interest are clips of Howard Hall's home movies featuring his pet lion Leo, and behind-the-scenes of Gone with the Wind, Herbert Hoover's campaign stop at Brucemore, and family vacations. "The Families of Brucemore" exhibit orients visitors to Brucemore's history and provides an enjoyable look at the past.
