Brucemore was voted the Best Cultural Attraction in the Corridor Business Journal’s 2021 Best of the Corridor competition. This was the third consecutive year that Brucemore received this honor. Nearly 3,000 people participated in voting for their favorites across 50 categories, ranging from the best professional firms to the best retailers.
“This recognition means even more coming out of 2020, when the pandemic and the derecho required us to be closed for significant periods of time,” said Director of Community Engagement Tara Richards. “We appreciate the continued support and are dedicated towards making Eastern Iowa a better place to live, work, and visit by cultivating a vibrant arts scene.”
Executive Director David Janssen said, “I’m proud we were able to put on small, safe concerts in our courtyard two weeks after the derecho, amid all of that damage. That made a statement and generated momentum. We’re excited about new partnerships with Theatre Cedar Rapids, and happy to have Brucemorchestra back on the schedule. I’m especially excited about the Artisan Studio Series, where our artisan in residence develops local artists in a recording studio on site and showcases them in “back yard” concerts in the servant’s duplex yard.”
