Brucemore Awarded 2024 Cultural Leadership Partner Grant

Brucemore was recently awarded $20,000 through the Cultural Leadership Partner Grant program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

This program supports organizations demonstrating a strong history of cultural excellence and service in Iowa. Brucemore applied for funding to invest time, talent, and resources into cultural programming through the Artisan Studio at Brucemore as a long-term, strategic investment. This grant will help Brucemore:

  • Increase the number of underserved local and regional artists and artistic organizations benefiting from professional growth and investment by Brucemore.
  • Contribute to the local cultural economy by creating opportunities for Iowa artists, technicians, and personnel to be paid for their art.
  • Improve the quality of life within the state by reaching more diverse audiences.
  • Build a greater positive regional brand and reputation for arts and culture.

These tangible, measurable benefits to the community are critical. However, the intangible benefits are equally important to ensuring long-term success. This includes pride in our regional artists and history, the desire of individuals to learn and be more involved, and a greater appreciation for our local communities.

This award is one of 173 grants given to artists and arts organizations totaling $1,678,389 to “strengthen the arts, culture and creative industries across the state and provide Iowans with access to enriching cultural experiences” per a recent press release by the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

Brucemore is proud to be a Cultural Leadership Partner and is grateful for the support of the National Endowment for the Arts, the Iowa Arts Council, and the Iowa Economic Development Authority for this investment.
