Enjoy a night of comedy and song in the mansion!
Brucemore and SPT Theatre are excited to bring A Modern Salon back to the Great Hall of the mansion! Join us for an evening of music and stories with SPT founders and a special guest. Emulating the Parisian salons at the turn of the 20th century, guests can experience an evening of wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts as if they were friends of the Douglas family who called the estate home.
This year’s event will feature SPT members Jane Pini, Janelle Lauer, and Gerard Estella with guests Adam Witte and Lincoln Ginsberg.
What to know before you go
- This is a 21+ event.
- Cocktail or creative evening attire is encouraged.
- Admission includes appetizers, desserts, wine-tasting, sparking wine, and non-alcoholic beverage options. If you have any questions about the menu, please contact us at 319-362-7375 or by email.
- We encourage you to enter the property via our gate at 2160 Linden Drive SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. Please feel free to drop guests off in the circle of the driveway under the porte cochere before proceeding to the paved parking spaces only a short walk from the mansion.
- Doors will open at 7:00 PM. Please do not arrive early as we do not have a lobby to allow guests to wait inside.
- If the event cannot be held due to weather, a decision will be made by 5:00 PM and posted on Brucemore’s website and social media. Ticket holders will be notified by phone.

What to do when you arrive
- Please enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE., Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
- Once on-site, follow signs towards the mansion.
- Follow signs to the on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.
- The mansion entrance is on the south side of the building, through the door under the porte cochere next to the circle drive.
- Check in at the door by providing the name on your ticket order. You do not need to print tickets to enter the event.
Tips for your visit
- Enjoy a selection of wine and light appetizers before the show begins at 7:30 PM.
- There will be one 20-minute intermission during the performance. Please enjoy sparkling wine, coffee, and desserts during this time.
- We will have a coat rack available, but it will not be monitored during the performance. Due to space being limited around the seating area, please consider leaving large bags and valuables at home or in your car.
- The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor, where the event is held. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge or call for more specific information.
- Photography is allowed for personal, non-commercial use. Tripods, selfie-sticks or other photography equipment will not be permitted. Photographs should not distract from others enjoyment.
