Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre and Brucemore present W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s
The Pirates of Penzance
Avast ye! Get ready for a rowdy, rollicking, musical voyage in CROpera’s modern spin on Gilbert & Sullivan’s masterpiece comic opera. Helmed by visionary Metropolitan Opera 25-year Guest Stage Director, Gregory Keller, this exuberant new production features punk rock pirates, donut-wielding policemen and a cast of seriously talented singers. Be warned… these pirates have been known to smoke, drink, and party, so consider leaving the smallest sailors in your family at home for this voyage. Batten down the hatches and set sail for Brucemore… if you dare! This performance is recommended for adult audiences.
Performances:
Thursday – Saturday, June 16 – 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Run time: Two hours with a 15-minute intermission.
Admission:
