In 1996, the Classics at Brucemore began, launching outdoor theater in Eastern Iowa. With a rich history of live, outdoor theater, the Classics serves as a signature annual event at Brucemore. More than a play performed outdoors, the best Classics productions take advantage of Brucemore’s historic estate and natural amphitheater, allowing actors to emerge from the woods, utilize the area’s trees, get dunked in the pond, and help themselves to picnics in the audience space.
This year we invite you to share your vision for this unique event. Brucemore is currently accepting applications from individuals interested in directing the 2019 Classics at Brucemore production.
